"Twenty fingers, twenty toes
Plenty of work, heaven knows!
Four little arms to hold tight
Four little cheeks to kiss night-night"

Today I was thrown a surprise baby shower from the girls and a few boys at Discover Rx, the new pharmacy group I work for and this was the verse that came on the cake.
I have been a bit overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and today when a board meeting was called in the conference room, I was completely surprised and one little blasphemy may have escaped my mouth when the table was covered in gifts. Our little twin munchkins are already being well looked after.
We also had a baby shower thrown for us recently by Ash and Krish where we got to catch up with some friends we hadn't seen in for a while and they all got to have a laugh at our expense. The blindfolded baby food tasting game made me feel sick, I'm not sure how kids manage to eat that stuff, pretty mushy and tasteless, I'm thinking a home made variety would definitely be preferable.
Shammy and I also had a blindfolded nappy changing competition where I managed to overcome the odds and win, it may have also had something to do with the fact that Shammy was given the cabbage patch kid doll, I'm not sure those were made with nappies in mind :).
It was a complete vegetarian evening as our hosts are also vegetarian so you can imagine I was pretty happy with that.
We now also have two cots in place thanks to Pauline and Harry and our apartment is suddenly starting to feel less spacious.
I'm going along well still, it will be 31 weeks on Saturday and I get a full growth scan and foetal monitoring session on Monday and then from then on its weekly appointments for me, they definitely like keeping an eye on things.
So we may have some more Ultrasound pics to show you soon.

Halloween weekend away in Bridgeton

Shammy and I had a refreshing weekend away, staying in a B&B right on the delaware water front. The 3 course breakfasts and homey feel were just what we needed. We also tried out a classy vegetarian restaurant in New Hope called the Sprig & Vine, our lunch consisted of an edamame wrap and spicey Vietnamese cabbage roll, delicious!
New hope is a cute little town with lots of boutique stores that kept us amused and Shammy in a hot sweat when he started trying some of the hotter than hot sauces they had available. I tried a level 4 hot pretzel, and that was it for me my mouth was numb and our twins decided it was time for a football match :).
Shammy has passed his internal medicine certification, congrats to him, what a journey and one more step ticked off on the way to becoming a cardiologist! To celebrate he tried his first plate of fresh oysters and even enjoyed them. Dad you might have a companion for your oyster fests now.
Below are some pictures from our morning walk/run along the delware canal, pictures from our b&b and new hope.
